Applicable scenarios

  • 🚀 High-flow crude oil pipelines: Pipeline flow >2 m/s; ordinary inhibitor films are hard to adhere
  • ❄️ Low-temperature regions: Low pour point; less layering at low temperature; easy to use
  • 💧 Emulsion-prone systems: Oil-soluble / water-dispersible type with excellent anti-emulsification
  • ⚙️ Refinery overhead systems: Protection against wet H₂S corrosion
  • Oilfield gathering & injection water lines: Protection against H₂S, CO₂ and high-salinity water corrosion
  • 🛢️ Storage tanks and transfer systems: Crude oil storage/transport anti-corrosion, reducing emulsion-layer corrosion
  • 🔩 Machining & metalworking: Inter-process rust prevention; corrosion-inhibitor component in metalworking fluids

In-depth analysis: BXH-105 Enhanced oil-soluble imidazoline

Based on the imidazoline intermediate BXH-102 synthesized from oleic acid and organic amines, one or more oleophilic/hydrophilic organic cyclic groups are added to improve low-temperature oil solubility. With hydrophilic groups, it is less prone to emulsification in the aqueous phase—short-term mutual solubility, then separating into oil and water phases on standing. Multiple cyclic groups better block contact between corrosive media and the metal surface; BXH-105 also improves corrosion inhibition, forms film quickly, and offers strong erosion resistance.

More advanced synthesis process

On the basis of the original imidazoline, one or more oleophilic/hydrophilic organic cyclic groups are added for a more advanced production process.

Excellent low-temperature oil solubility

Solves low-temperature precipitation and poor oil solubility, allowing more cost-effective solvents to be selected.

Oil-soluble / water-dispersible, wider applicability

Solves emulsification when oil-soluble products meet water, lowers application constraints, and broadens the applicable range.

Typical application scenarios

Long-distance crude oil pipelines
High flow >3 m/s

Fast film formation and erosion resistance maintain pipeline wall protection and reduce CO₂/H₂S corrosion.

Refinery fractionation overhead
Anti-emulsification

Sour water is prone to emulsification and oil carryover; BXH-105 keeps water clear and oil content on-spec.

Northern winter / cold regions
Low-temperature performance

Good low-temperature performance ensures normal winter application.

Technical Q&A

What is the difference between BXH-105 and BXH-102? When should you choose the enhanced version?
Both are oil-soluble imidazolines. BXH-102 is suitable for conventional oil phase corrosion inhibition; BXH-105 has a higher effective content, faster film formation, and is resistant to erosion flow rates up to 3.5 m/s. It is suitable for high flow rate (>3 m/s) long-distance pipelines and emergency conditions that require rapid film construction.
Why are ordinary corrosion inhibitors ineffective in high flow velocity pipelines?
The shear force generated by high flow rate will continue to erode and peel off the protective film. Ordinary corrosion inhibitor film formation is slow and the film is not replenished in time, resulting in local exposed corrosion. The enhanced version uses rapid film formation kinetics to complete the repair before the film is washed away.
What is the recommended filling amount and film formation time of BXH-105?
Continuous injection is recommended at 15–40 mg/L (adjusted according to flow rate and corrosive medium concentration), which can quickly establish a protective film within a few hours. After stabilization, it can be reduced to the maintenance amount based on corrosion monitoring data.
Is enhanced oil-soluble imidazoline suitable for oil fields or refineries?
Both are available. It is used in refineries for high-flow oil phase pipelines and oil transfer lines, and in oil fields for long-distance pipelines and high-flow gathering and transportation trunk lines. It is recommended to choose OEM for high water content and anti-emulsification conditions in oil fields.

Emulsification, layering, and only a slight gap in inhibition rate? BXH-105 responds quickly

Film formation takes 4 hours to quickly contain abnormal corrosion and ensure stable operation of the device.
