Applicable scenarios

  • ⚙️ Refinery overhead systems: Protection against wet H₂S corrosion
  • Oilfield gathering & injection water lines: Protection against H₂S, CO₂ and high-salinity water corrosion
  • 🏭 Industrial cleaning / pickling: 0.1~0.5% concentration as pickling inhibitor to protect base metal
  • 🔩 Electroplating: Process corrosion inhibition for electroplating
  • 💧 Circulating water systems: Corrosion control to extend heat exchanger life

Product advantages

✔ The imidazoline head group is strongly adsorbed on the metal surface, and the corrosion inhibition efficiency is >85% (coupling test)
✔ Good water solubility, easy to add, does not affect the quality of downstream products
✔ Good compatibility with demulsifiers, neutralizing amines and other additives
✔ In-house lab with three-stage QC: raw material, in-process and finished goods, batch report issued

Typical application cases

A CNPC Refinery Atmospheric and Vacuum Unit
CNPC · A Certain Refinery

BXH-101 injected into overhead wash water (5-20 ppm on feed basis) as part of the standard desalting-and-injection anti-corrosion program, controlled to condensate Fe²⁺ ≤1 mg/L and pH 5.5-6.5, with coupon-tested inhibition efficiency >85%.

Industrial cleaning & metalworking
A domestic refinery

At 0.1-0.5% concentration, used as a pickling inhibitor for equipment and workpieces, in electroplating processes and for inter-process rust prevention of machined parts — a mature application field beyond refineries.

FAQ

What is the difference between water-soluble imidazoline polyoxyethylene ether and oil-soluble one?
Water-soluble imidazoline (BXH-101) is dissolved in the water phase and injected into the washing water at the top of the tower to protect the aqueous corrosive environment; oil-soluble imidazoline (BXH-102) is dissolved in the oil phase and injected into circulating oil to protect the pipe wall. The two mechanisms are complementary and are usually used together in refineries.
Which petrochemical refining units is BXH-101 suitable for?
BXH-101 is mainly suitable for refinery overhead systems (wet H₂S corrosion), oilfield gathering and injection water lines, and aqueous systems such as industrial cleaning, electroplating and circulating water.
What is the standard dosage of imidazoline corrosion inhibitor?
The recommended filling amount is 5–20 mg/L (based on aqueous flow rate), depending on: corrosive medium concentration (Cl⁻ content), operating temperature, flow rate and pH value. It is recommended to start with 20 mg/L for the first time, and then lower it to the maintenance amount based on corrosion monitoring data after stabilization.
Are water-soluble imidazolines effective under high temperature and pressure conditions?
BXH-101 is designed to be used at a temperature ≤150°C. Film formation efficiency decreases beyond this temperature. For high-temperature conditions above 180°C, it is recommended to use phosphorus-free high-temperature corrosion inhibitor BXH-103. Short-term high temperature scenarios between 150-180℃ can be used in combination with BXH-103.

In-depth analysis: BXH-101 Water-soluble Imidazoline Polyoxyethylene Ether

Why choose water-soluble imidazoline?

The raw materials are oleic acid, organic amines and ethylene oxide, free of chlorine, metal ions and other media.

It is a pure agent. Water-soluble imidazolines modified with benzyl chloride typically have only 60~70% active content.

High imidazoline cyclization rate and better corrosion inhibition.

Excellent water solubility without causing water emulsification.

Wide pH application range: good performance at pH 3.0–9.0.

Can be compounded with various corrosion inhibitors and neutralizing agents for broad applications.
